Induction Hardening
Rapid, repeatable processing, low distortion, clean parts, and zone hardening are just some of the advantages of our induction hardening processes.
Process Attributes:
- Medium or high carbon mild and alloy steels
- Rapid, repeatable processing
- Zone hardening
- Low distortion
- Clean parts
- Process up to:
- 63” long
- 18” diameter
- 500 pounds
- 63” long
With our expertise and in house lab, we have developed unique procedures for parts with complex shape.
- Case depths range from 0.030" up to 0.250". Surface hardness up to 60-64 HRC can be achieved in certain materials.
Induction hardening is a rapid process for surface hardening pins, shafts, gears, slips, and specialty items that require localized hardening without distortion of the part. Induction hardening is used on medium or high carbon mild and alloy steels. View a sample Case Depth Survey here.

Thermex is in its 45th year of operation!
What better way to mark this milestone than with an ambitious equipment and capacity upgrade plan, which is exactly what we are up to over the next 9 months.
